IPCA Selected for the EU-Funded Vijana Plus Project

We are thrilled to announce that the Infection Prevention and Control Alliance (IPCA) has been selected as one of the winners of the Vijana Plus project an exciting, youth-centered initiative funded by the European Union (EU) and jointly launched by Save the Children Tanzania and the Tanzania Bora Initiative.

This marks a significant milestone for IPCA as we continue our mission to empower young people with the tools, knowledge, and platforms to lead on issues of health, safety, and community transformation.

About Vijana Plus

The Vijana Plus project is a flagship program that aims to enhance youth participation in governance and development, amplify youth voices, and support innovative solutions to the challenges that young Tanzanians face. Through this initiative, selected youth-led and youth-serving organizations are given the opportunity to lead bold, community driven solutions with tangible social impact.

The project is implemented by Save the Children Tanzania in partnership with Tanzania Bora Initiative, under the support of the European Union Delegation to Tanzania and the East African Community.

What This Means for IPCA

Being chosen for the Vijana Plus program is both an honor and a responsibility. It validates our work in promoting infection prevention, health equity, and youth empowerment and strengthens our commitment to scaling up our impact.

As part of the program, IPCA will:

  • Engage young people in leadership, advocacy, and awareness activities around infection prevention and health rights.

  • Train youth champions in community health, hygiene practices, and digital storytelling.

  • Partner with communities and institutions to create safe, inclusive spaces for young people to thrive.

A New Chapter for Youth Health Advocacy

At IPCA, we believe that youth are not just beneficiaries they are leaders and changemakers. Through Vijana Plus, we are excited to build momentum for youth-driven health initiatives that are data-informed, locally led, and socially inclusive.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to Save the Children Tanzania, Tanzania Bora Initiative, and the European Union for believing in our vision and entrusting us with this opportunity.

Together, we move forward for a healthier, more empowered generation.
