IPCA Tanzania Enhances HIV Prevention and Support through Comprehensive Training for Healthcare Providers and Police Officers in Ruvuma Region

The Infection Prevention and Control Alliance (IPCA) Tanzania recently conducted a comprehensive training program targeting healthcare providers and police gender desk officers in Mbinga Town and Mbinga District Council, Ruvuma Region, Tanzania. This initiative aims to enhance the delivery of HIV prevention packages and improve access to healthcare services for people living with HIV (PLHIV) from high-risk and vulnerable groups.

The training also focused on building the capacity of participants to address and mitigate gender-based violence (GBV), stigma, and discrimination, ensuring a safer and more supportive environment for PLHIV. By fostering collaboration between community stakeholders and healthcare facilities, the program seeks to strengthen efforts to protect the rights and dignity of high-risk People Living with HIV (PLHIV )populations and promote their well-being.
