Empowering Peer Educators to Support Key Populations

After an intensive one-day workshop, our peer educators received comprehensive training tailored to effectively reach key populations, including female sex workers. The training equipped them with the necessary skills and knowledge to provide a wide range of biomedical services, ensuring these services are accessible and tailored to the unique needs of these populations.
Additionally, our educators were trained in the crucial task of screening for gender-based violence (GBV), allowing them to identify and address instances of GBV sensitively and effectively. This holistic approach ensures that our peer educators are not only able to deliver essential healthcare services but also to support individuals in situations of GBV, providing immediate assistance and referrals to appropriate support services.
The impact of this training is profound, as it enables our educators to build trust within the community, encourage the use of healthcare services, and create a safer, more supportive environment for female sex workers and other vulnerable groups. The success of this initiative is evident in the enhanced accessibility to healthcare, improved safety, and the overall empowerment of the individuals we serve, marking a significant step forward in our mission to provide comprehensive care and support to those most in need.
